The Hikvision E100N is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched on August 7th, 2021. It is only available in the 512 GB capacity listed on this page. With the rest of the system, the Hikvision E100N interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the SM2259XT from Silicon Motion, a DRAM cache is not available. Hikvision has installed 64-layer TLC NAND flash on the E100N, the flash chips are made by YMTC. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are soaked up more quickly. The cache is sized at 138 GB, once it is full, writes complete at 300 MB/s. Copying data out of the SLC cache (folding) completes at 132 MB/s. The E100N is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s and 510 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 90K for reads and 75K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 55 USD. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. Hikvision guarantees an endurance rating of 140 TBW, a relatively low value compared to other SSDs.
