The Acer SA100 is a solid-state drive in the 2.5" form factor, launched in 2021. It is available in capacities ranging from 240 GB to 1.9 TB. This page reports specifications for the 960 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the Acer SA100 interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the MAS0902A-B2C from MaxioTech, a DRAM cache is not available. Acer has installed 96-layer QLC NAND flash on the SA100, the flash chips are made by Micron. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are processed more quickly. The cache is sized at 100 GB, once it is full, writes complete at 100 MB/s. Copying data out of the SLC cache (folding) completes at 60 MB/s. The SA100 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s and 507 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 84K for reads and 72K for writes.
The SSD's price at launch is unknown. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. Acer guarantees an endurance rating of 300 TBW, a relatively low value compared to other SSDs.
