The Quadro P4000 Max-Q was a professional mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on January 11th, 2017. Built on the 16 nm process, and based on the GP104 graphics processor, in its N17E-Q3-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. The GP104 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 314 mm² and 7,200 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked GeForce GTX 1080, which uses the same GPU but has all 2560 shaders enabled, NVIDIA has disabled some shading units on the Quadro P4000 Max-Q to reach the product's target shader count. It features 1792 shading units, 112 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 8 GB GDDR5 memory with the Quadro P4000 Max-Q, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1114 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1228 MHz, memory is running at 1502 MHz (6 Gbps effective).
Being a mxm module card, the NVIDIA Quadro P4000 Max-Q does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 100 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device.
