Packaging and Accessories

The FiiO K19 ships in a large branded cardboard carton identical to what we saw before with the K9 Pro ESS. Inside is the product box itself which immediately told me this was going to be a different form factor from the previous gen FiiO desktop sources given this is relatively long and wide but ultimately quite slim. I like the continued use of iridescent lettering on the front for the brand and product name in addition to a note on the corner letting you know which color of the K19 is inside. Some basic specifications are on the back, accompanied by contact information for FiiO and relevant certification stickers. Open the box to see a detailed quick start guide (online copy here) and warranty card with plenty of foam helping protect the more valuable contents on their way to you.

FiiO makes sure you have everything in the box to get going with the K19 and this includes, as a welcome change, batteries for the handy remote control too. This remote is customized to the K19 and has everything you might want to do with the device, be it changing the inputs, volume control, accessing the menu, or even a handy EQ toggle button. It's a plastic remote that is light in the hands and works as expected, although I suppose going with an aluminium remote would have fit the actual K19 better. There's the expected power cable from the wall mains—the K19 has an internal power supply—as well as cables in the form of USB Type-C to Type-C and Type-C to Type-A. We also get a 3.5 mm to 6.35 mm (1/4") adapter and a USB female Type-C to male Type-A adapter in addition to a 3.5 mm TS to 3.5 mm TS interconnect. Note also the set of six silicone rubber feet to use with the K19 in horizontal orientation and the screwdriver, screws, and two metal feet for use in a vertical position as we will see on the next page. There's also a curved plastic accessory which I was initially confused about until I realized it was meant to be a headphones stand in conjunction with the K19. Not a bad unboxing experience at all!
