NVIDIA Points Intel Raptor Lake CPU Users to Get Help from Intel Amid System Instability Issues

ASRock is doing that since almost a year and a half. I had to post the thing on their forum and one tech showed up and said: really? A couple of Bios' later they allowed the choice between no-limits and Intel settings. But the default mode (i.e. after every bios upgrade) was (and I guess still...

    FinalWire Announces AIDA64 v7.20 Update

I guess it is not possible to read the temperature of the 12VHPWR connector, right?

Cinebench test of i9-14900 with CEP (Current Excursion Protection) enabled and disabled

Well, after updating the bios of my ASUS Z790 motherboard to 2102 version, I Cinebench'ed (R23) my i9-14900 (all limits removed) with CEP disabled (it was enabled by default). With CEP enabled the CPU scored 37.529 (multicore). With CEP disabled it scored 38.584 (multicore) and an average...

    FinalWire Announces AIDA64 v7.20 Update

Interesting, it seems to be able to read the 12VHPWR data (power, voltage, current). At least on my RTX4080.

CableMod Recalls 12VHPWR v1.0 and v1.1 Angled Adapters

OK, 2nd recall, I'm done with Cablemod. Left is 1.0 and right is 1.1 90° angled adapter. My GPU is a PNY 4080, never overclocked.

Intel Core 14th Gen Unboxing & Preview

Does no one point out that this "new" generation of CPUs will make many people believe that there will be a need for the "new" generation of Z790 MBs?

ASRock Announces Z790 Taichi Lite and B650E Taichi Lite Motherboards

EATX this one too ... bye-bye ASRock. Since my Z690 Taichi (ATX) cold not manage my 4080 I already went for the ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E.

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

In the end ASRock told me to contact the local dealer and possibly RMA. Long story short, I gave up and mounted an ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E. After the usual ASUS difficulties in recognizing the RAM (first in A2/B2 then in A1/B1 and finally in A2/B2, with the classic BIOS error code 55) all went...

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

IMHO it is a Z690 Taichi specific problem (what a lucky guy would I be). The Z690 PG Velocità got a BIOS update specific for the GPU 40XX series compatibility, while the Taichi has not, yet. I'll probably try a Z790 soon.

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

Unfortunately, even the beta bios does not solve the problem with the setting on "Normal" while everything works well with the setting on "Prefer Max Performance". I wrote back to ASRock support describing the workaround. Let's see what they say about it. Anyway, thanks again!

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

So, prey for me: I've just received a beta bios directly from ASRock. I'll let you know if it works.

Yes, it has always been disabled. I'll check in the bios as well.

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

Thank you all again for your help. Yes, I can live with 30W at idle. The GPU temp at idle with those values is 32-34C° deg (room at 25-26C°) and about 8C° more for the hotspot. Generally, the GPU/fan run very silent and almost never above 60-65° even under stress. I guess I'll keep it this...

PNY RTX 4080 and nVidia Control Panel Setting

AusWolf, I forgot to mention that those idle values are with Max Perf on. And yes, I changed from a 6900 XT but I did a clean install after a full DDU.
